NYOM is a directory of New York City open mics — music, comedy, poetry, storytelling — sorted by night and by what you do, so performers can find a stage without digging through five different group chats.
Open mic listings in New York live everywhere and nowhere — a pinned Instagram story, a flyer stapled to a lamppost, a group chat you had to already be in to know about. NYOM exists to put that information somewhere anyone can find it, updated by the hosts who actually run these nights.
Hosts submit their own mic through the submission form, pay a one-time $10 listing fee, and it's reviewed by hand and usually published within 48 hours. The fee isn't about the money — it's a small enough bar that spam and dead listings don't pile up, and real hosts don't think twice about it.
Every listing page has a “flag this listing” link — if a mic moved nights, changed sign-up methods, or shut down, tell us and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can. Hosts can also request edits to their own listing anytime at no extra charge.
